What personal information does RentalSite collect and how is it used?
From Visitors to our sites, we collect the domain name and/or IP address of all visitors to our web page. In addition we collect click stream data that helps us track which pages are being viewed. This data is not tied to any individually identifiable information and is used to improve the content, layout and services offered on our sites. In addition, the aggregate of this data may also be used to report site usage statistics to outside parties.
From Registered Users of our sites, we require your name and e-mail address. We also ask that you provide us with information on your company and job function. We use this information to personalize your user experience, improve the functionality of the web site and provide you with special offers. Registered users can access and update their account information and preferences at any time by going to the My Account page and accessing their personal profile.
From time to time, we conduct voluntary visitor surveys and polls. Your individual responses to these surveys are not tied to any of your individually identifiable information submitted under the registration process. All survey responses are reported in aggregate. RentalSite may share aggregate data from surveys and polls with outside parties.
Will RentalSite disclose any of my personal information?
RentalSite will not disclose any of your personal information, except as described below, or when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights or property of RentalSite. Under confidentiality agreements, RentalSite may match user information with third party data. Also, RentalSite does disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties, and for other lawful purposes. If/when we do match user information we endeavor to keep personal information confidential from those third parties.
Additionally, if you make a purchase from our site, the information obtained during your visit to these areas, and the information that you give such as your credit card number and contact information, is provided to the merchant of record. These merchants can be RentalSite or third party companies. These merchants have separate privacy and data collection practices. RentalSite has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies.
Am I responsible for any of the content I submit?
Yes. RentalSite provides private bulletin boards for registered users. When information is posted on these bulletin boards, RentalSite will post the account name of the user who submitted the message. No other personal information is posted by RentalSite. We will, however, record individually identifiable information for our internal records. This personal information is not shared with any third parties. Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily post information to these bulletin boards, any individual information that you voluntarily disclose on the posted text will be accessible by other users of RentalSite. RentalSite has no responsibility or liability for these independent actions. In addition, RentalSite reserves the right to edit or remove any potentially offensive or inappropriate information posted in the Points of Interest space.
Will RentalSite use my information for direct mailings?
We will send you information about our various products and services, or other products and services we feel may be of interest to you. Only RentalSite (or agents working on behalf of RentalSite and under confidentiality agreements) will send you these direct mailings.
How can I opt out of receiving direct mailings?
If you do not want to receive unsolicited e-mail from us, you have two options for opting out:

Does RentalSite Use "Cookies"?
Yes. Cookies are tiny pieces of information stored as a file that a Web site places on an individual user's hard drive. Cookies are used on RentalSite for various purposes.
Optionally saving information related to your user id and password. This is an optional feature which eliminates the need to manually register with your account every time you access the site.
Temporary cookies to save items placed in your shopping cart. To help track visitor clickstream data, which helps us, identify which pages are being accessed by site visitors. By analyzing this data, we are able to constantly improve the design of the web site.
RentalSite does not use cookies to identify specific individuals except in such cases as automatic login.
Does RentalSite use "IP Addresses"?
RentalSite collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers and others.
